  RETURNED MY (?) CAT IN THE WRONG CONTAINER. It has taken me almost 2 months to write this warning/review as I have been so heartbroken by my dealing with this company. My Gorgeous cat of 17 years was put to sleep Thurs 24 Sept. He let me know that it was time to go and I did everything I could to make it as comfortable as possible for him and as tolerable for me. My wonderful vet and her assistant came to my house, and he went cradled in my arms, hearing me sing to him, without fear or stress or trauma. My vet said they had used Surrey Pet Cemetary for cremation and I signed a release for the procedure as I always want him to be with me. This is when the nightmare began. I chose an urn in the shape of a white cat as he was pure white. I was so looking forward to picking him up as I felt it would be closure to have him back with me. I called the surgery before going there to make sure he had been returned and was told as gently as possible that Surrey had sent him back in the wrong urn, that of a black cat. I was absolutely devastated, lost beyond words. I spoke with Chilton Pike at Surrey who said a worker picked out the wrong colored urn and they would exchange his ashes into the correct white urn in 2 days. He told me he would refund the price of the urn. How insulting! I wold have paid 100 times the price to NOT to have gone through this and to ensure I was getting my beloved pet back. My vet was horrified and the surgery asked for a letter detailing the process taken as all is supposed to be regulated. So Surrey wrote a step-by-step list of the cremation process, including what chamber he was placed in and how long and at what temperature his little body was incinerated. Horrific. I cannot read this letter. My surgery did and say my pet has been returned in the proper urn. I will wonder and will have my doubt for the rest of my life until the day I die. My beautiful, faithful, gentle cat who I dragged from Boston to Italy to England, who survived cancer and radiation therapy to be with me for an additional 5 years couldn't survive a trip to Surrey Pet Cemetary without incident. They made the most heartbreaking thing I've ever had to endure a thousand times worse. It never should have happened. If you love your pet and want to be positive that it is returned to you without doubt then steer clear of this place. My life will never be the same.
